read the manual, mom!
So after the no-lunch fiasco on my daughter’s first day of school, I decided that maybe I had better read the parent handbook. Of course, when I looked for it, it was nowhere to be found, so I requested a copy. Reading through it today I found at least three places where they remind you that lunches are to be provided from home. Damn it.
So tonight, after work, I am making a pit stop for a lunch box and more lunch-box friendly food items. These items cannot in any way shape or form include nuts of any kind. Also, “choking hazards” such as raw carrots, grapes, hot-dogs (even cut-up ones) or other large bites of meat, etc and so on, are not allowed. Hmmm. So no peanut butter sandwiches, hot dogs, or leftover grilled chicken. Got it.
Tomorrow it’s back to school for the kiddo, and house cleaning and studying for me. We will resume music lessons next week, and swimming lessons in October. Yes, busy, but that’s how I like it. Stuck in the house, with a toddler who is stir-crazy, is my definition of insanity. On weekends we will not only have swimming, but I plan to be at the apple orchards, carving pumpkins, and other such fall fun! We already have her Halloween costume… she’s going to be a duck! (She loves ducks.)
